This passage formed part of our ongoing delivery work throughout Malaysia and Borneo, where we regularly relocate both sailing yachts and catamarans between major cruising destinations.
This Fountaine Pajot catamaran was delivered from Langkawi, Malaysia, to the Philippines, a passage that involved crossing the South China Sea before continuing into the Philippine archipelago. Prior to departure the yacht underwent routine delivery checks, including safety equipment, engine systems and onboard spares, helping reduce the likelihood of delays once underway.
The route is a common relocation for cruising catamarans operating in Southeast Asia and requires careful attention to seasonal weather patterns and passage timing. Once in Philippine waters, the cruising options expand considerably across one of the region’s largest island groups. Although a routine delivery, the passage required careful fuel planning due to the distance between suitable refuelling locations along parts of the route.
