The distance for deliveries from Hong Kong varies depending on the final destination, but passages commonly involve several hundred to well over a thousand nautical miles. Routing may include the South China Sea and busy commercial shipping areas, making voyage planning and AIS monitoring an important part of the delivery. Seasonal weather patterns, particularly the northeast and southwest monsoons, also influence departure timing.
Before leaving Hong Kong, routine inspections were completed on both engines, saildrives, steering systems and navigation equipment. A post-delivery report detailing engine hours, fuel usage and any maintenance observations was provided to the owner, leaving the yacht ready for its next cruise.
