The Malacca Strait is one of the busiest shipping corridors in the world, making traffic management a significant part of the passage. Commercial shipping, fishing activity and navigation through congested waters require constant attention compared with many offshore delivery routes.
Prior to departure from Phuket, we completed routine delivery checks and reviewed weather and passage plans for the trip south. Once underway, the focus was on maintaining steady progress while working around shipping movements and local traffic throughout the Strait.
Singapore remains a major hub for yacht ownership and vessel movements in Southeast Asia, with Riviera motor yachts regularly relocated between Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore for cruising, maintenance and owner handovers.
