Grand Ocean W60 Delivery – Hong Kong to Sydney
Yacht Delivery Solutions launched and commissioned this Grand Ocean W60 in Hong Kong before commencing the delivery to Sydney, Australia. The Grand Ocean W60 is a long-range cruising catamaran designed for extended coastal and offshore operation. We have delivered similar vessels such as the Horizon PC52.
Launching and commissioning a newly completed yacht differs significantly from a conventional delivery. Before departing the builder, onboard systems are progressively tested under operational conditions, allowing any commissioning items to be identified before the vessel begins a longer offshore passage.
Following commissioning, sea trials and final preparation, the vessel departed Hong Kong and began the relocation south to Sydney. The passage connected one of Asia’s major boating centres with Australia’s east coast cruising grounds as part of an owner handover and relocation programme.
The route from Hong Kong to Sydney covers several thousand nautical miles and typically involves multiple fuel stops and careful seasonal planning. For a newly commissioned vessel, the passage also provides an opportunity to accumulate valuable engine hours and verify the performance of propulsion, electrical and navigation systems before final handover to the owner.
