Bavaria Cruiser Yacht Delivery Skipper
We deliver Bavaria yachts, provide experienced delivery skippers and relocate sailing yachts throughout Southeast Asia. This Bavaria Cruiser 46 was delivered from Singapore to Phuket, relocating the yacht between two of the region’s busiest cruising centres.
The delivery involved a passage north through the Malacca Strait before continuing along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia towards Thailand. Although well travelled by cruising yachts, the route requires careful planning around commercial shipping, fishing activity and changing weather conditions.
The Malacca Strait is one of the busiest shipping routes in the world, making continuous watchkeeping particularly important during both day and night. Once clear of the busiest traffic, the passage becomes more straightforward as the route follows the Malaysian coastline towards Langkawi before crossing into Thai waters.
Before departure we carried out the normal delivery checks, including engine systems, safety equipment and fuel planning to ensure the yacht was ready for the offshore passage. Even on relatively routine deliveries, thorough preparation helps reduce unnecessary delays once underway.
