Departing Singapore, the passage headed north through the South China Sea before following the coastline of Malaysian Borneo towards Sabah. While straightforward in settled conditions, the route requires careful passage planning around commercial shipping traffic, seasonal weather patterns and suitable overnight stops.
Prior to departure we completed the normal delivery preparations, including safety equipment checks, engine inspections and fuel planning.
